Using worms to compost your leftover scraps and make a nutritious addition to your soil.
I have a number of compost options in my yard and I like the worm composting the best.
Tumbler: It is easy to contain the compost and it looks nice and neat, however here are some of the downfalls:
sometimes there are maggots or flies in it
it needs to be turned on a regular basis
it needs to be kept slightly wet, like a damp sponge
even a large tumbler doesn’t hold much if you are adding leaves and grass clippings
it can take a long time for scraps to turn to compost
Compost pile (contained in large bins): great for leaves, grass clippings, and large quantities of scraps, however, here are some of the drawbacks:
